I was caught from the first page. I read it when it first came out and just read it again, because I’d forgotten most of it. It kept me as enticed as it did the first time. I guess it’s the characters and the feeling as if I’m in the world with them. Can’t wait for the next two books!

Ms. Roberts never disappoints! I try to take it slow, to savor the story, but I immediately get drawn in to the vibrancy and clarity of the Irish countryside (my heritage too), the deeply woven and somehow familiar characters that makes me want to be a part of that world. I love and crave the fantasy of this genre . The struggle between two worlds, the amazing transformation in the heroine, the love of family and friends old and new, the anticipation of the danger that is coming and the promise of what could be! November seems so far away to wait for the next installment. I may have to read it again , or a few times until then! I absolutely loved this story. It started out a little slow, but I understand why and I. Some spots was slow as well. I thought the relationship between Breen and Keegan could have built a little better because, I didn’t think they were even attracted to one another. I loved the ending and wish the 2nd book was already released. I look forward to the 2nd book. Great Job!

Extremely disappointing

I found this repetitive and self indulgent. The only new aspect was the overt “wokeness” in upending the heroine’s before-world normalness by having her surrounded with lgbtq men representing her support system and a mean mother. I kept hoping it would even out. I was wrong. I wonder if the author is at all concerned with alienating her base? Or worried about being cancelled otherwise?

This book didn’t feel like a fresh tale. Rather, it glued together a number of old storylines from previous novels. Most of the characters didn’t have the depth or interest to make me love them. Compared to The One, very flat. Sorry, Nora, just not up to your standard! ********SPOILER ALERT******** I did care for Marco, I’m rooting for him. Not so much for our main character.

Great storytelling!

I must say that the storytelling was fantastic. This author really brought to life not only Ireland, but this alternate universe she created. Just the scenery alone was worth the read. This first book is more about the heroine, Breen learning who she really is, and shedding the old Breen her mother tried to mold her into. We also get introduced to many characters in this alternate universe that will have a lot to do with the overall storyline. The imagery of each of these characters were just as fascinating as their surroundings. I loved seeing Breen shine as she learns where she truly comes from. I really liked her character and could relate to her struggles with confidence. I also like how she handles many conflicts that dealt with this confidence issue she has that was bred by her mother. Keegan was a harder character for me to like. He's an honorable man who has this fierce need to protect everyone, but that need got in his way of his compassion towards Breen in this book. It will be interesting to see how he changes in the next book now that he sees what he's asked of her. As I mentioned before, there are many side characters that add to the overall story and I am looking forward to seeing where they all will fit in as things escalate. I'm looking forward to the next in the series.

What a wonderful way to start a new series! There’s always more going on than what one sees or feels, as Breen finds out. When she unexpectedly finds that how she sees herself and how she’s been living so frugally isn’t real, she makes some major changes. She stops putting a brown rinse to dull her red hair, goes on her first overseas trip with her best friend, Marco to Ireland, the land of her father. Once there, she feels an immediate connection. After Marco returns home, she really finds her connections. The memories and her hidden skills are starting to appear which help her overcome her sense of just barely being adequate. When meeting Keegan, she feels his disdain with her. He knows that she is capable of so much and with the troubles to come, she really needs to find her confidence in her skills and love for her new found world.

I have to wait a year.....

I’ve read most of the books by this author and I loved almost every single one. This one hooked me from the beginning. There is a world of wonder built for us to watch. It’s so hard to wait for the next installment but I’m so glad I got to read this story!

I loved every word. From the very beginning Nora Robert’s drew me in. I could see the towns and villages, the waterfalls and the fairies. The characters are well written and real. I can’t wait for the next book.

The Awakening is such a wonderful story

I absolutely loved this story. It started out a little slow, but I understand why and I. Some spots was slow as well. I thought the relationship between Breen and Keegan could have built a little better because, I didn’t think they were even attracted to one another. I loved the ending and wish the 2nd book was already released. I look forward to the 2nd book. Great Job!

This is so fun, and different for Nora. Similar character building but a bit more modern—still a fun idea of multiverses, magicks, technology and friendship. I am so sad book 2 is likely months away.

Extremely disappointing

I found this repetitive and self indulgent. The only new aspect was the overt “wokeness” in upending the heroine’s before-world normalness by having her surrounded with lgbtq men representing her support system and a mean mother. I kept hoping it would even out. I was wrong. I wonder if the author is at all concerned with alienating her base? Or worried about being cancelled otherwise?

This book didn’t feel like a fresh tale. Rather, it glued together a number of old storylines from previous novels. Most of the characters didn’t have the depth or interest to make me love them. Compared to The One, very flat. Sorry, Nora, just not up to your standard! ********SPOILER ALERT******** I did care for Marco, I’m rooting for him. Not so much for our main character.

I love this book! There aren’t words I can think of for how wonderful this book is. Nora Roberts truly writes the best books. I can feel and see everything as I read along. The only downside I can see is that I have to wait months for the next in this series! I really hope one of these fantastic trilogies makes it to a movie series!!

Great storytelling!

I must say that the storytelling was fantastic. This author really brought to life not only Ireland, but this alternate universe she created. Just the scenery alone was worth the read. This first book is more about the heroine, Breen learning who she really is, and shedding the old Breen her mother tried to mold her into. We also get introduced to many characters in this alternate universe that will have a lot to do with the overall storyline. The imagery of each of these characters were just as fascinating as their surroundings. I loved seeing Breen shine as she learns where she truly comes from. I really liked her character and could relate to her struggles with confidence. I also like how she handles many conflicts that dealt with this confidence issue she has that was bred by her mother. Keegan was a harder character for me to like. He's an honorable man who has this fierce need to protect everyone, but that need got in his way of his compassion towards Breen in this book. It will be interesting to see how he changes in the next book now that he sees what he's asked of her. As I mentioned before, there are many side characters that add to the overall story and I am looking forward to seeing where they all will fit in as things escalate. I'm looking forward to the next in the series.

What a wonderful way to start a new series! There’s always more going on than what one sees or feels, as Breen finds out. When she unexpectedly finds that how she sees herself and how she’s been living so frugally isn’t real, she makes some major changes. She stops putting a brown rinse to dull her red hair, goes on her first overseas trip with her best friend, Marco to Ireland, the land of her father. Once there, she feels an immediate connection. After Marco returns home, she really finds her connections. The memories and her hidden skills are starting to appear which help her overcome her sense of just barely being adequate. When meeting Keegan, she feels his disdain with her. Another great Nora Robert’s book series.

I was caught from the first page. I read it when it first came out and just read it again, because I’d forgotten most of it. It kept me as enticed as it did the first time. I guess it’s the characters and the feeling as if I’m in the world with them. Can’t wait for the next two books!

Ms. Roberts never disappoints! I try to take it slow, to savor the story, but I immediately get drawn in to the vibrancy and clarity of the Irish countryside (my heritage too), the deeply woven and somehow familiar characters that makes me want to be a part of that world. I love and crave the fantasy of this genre . The struggle between two worlds, the amazing transformation in the heroine, the love of family and friends old and new, the anticipation of the danger that is coming and the promise of what could be! November seems so far away to wait for the next installment. I may have to read it again , or a few times until then! It’s such a beautiful combination of life here and life elsewhere. The character POV jumps are done perfectly and are timed out nicely so that you’re never rushing to get back to a different character. I loved this book and cannot wait for the next one to come out!
